Reviewing transcripts

Why this exists: practice transcripts often contain client names and other personal detail. Before you share a transcript with AI, a mentor, a supervisor, or anyone else, you can prepare a clean copy on your device. That is how you redact the transcript in Koalafied™. The raw transcript stays with you. The clean copy is what you choose to share or send on.

This is a core privacy step in Koalafied, separate from Privacy Mode (which only masks names on screen while you use the app).

What you do​

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, when a session has a transcript (for example from Zoom or a file you attached):

  1. Open the session that has the transcript.
  2. Match who spoke to people in your list.
  3. Prepare and save a clean transcript on your device.
  4. Check that clean copy before you rely on it or share it.

Any later AI assessment in Koalafied is meant to use the clean copy, not the raw one. Creating transcripts from audio alone on the device is not in the app yet. See Roadmap.

Limits​

Name detection is not perfect. It can miss names it does not recognise, and it can flag ordinary words that look like names. That is why the review step exists, and why you should check the clean copy before you share it. A clean transcript is not a guarantee that every name or sensitive detail was caught.

Privacy​

Review and redaction happen on your devices. The developer does not host the transcript.

Privacy Mode only hides other people’s names in the interface (for example during a screen share). It does not prepare a clean transcript for sharing. See Privacy overview.
