For Charlotte

Koalafied is dedicated to Charlotte (Charl), my wife of thirty years and my partner in crime for over thirty-seven years.

Charl was a nurse who spent her working life caring for people. She loved animals from the time she was a girl and dreamed of becoming a vet. She adored horses, and was training to become an equine assisted therapist. When we visited Australia for the first time many years ago to activate our visas, she met and hugged her first koala.

Charl was very creative, unlike me, and she shaped this app in ways you can see on every screen. Purple was her favourite colour, so purple became the dominant colour. She helped me design the koala, and the word art that carries its name.

Together we raised four children and made our home in Perth, Western Australia. This is for her.
